With the launch of the new MG Hector Plus, India has now got a bunch of affordable 6-seater cars. The Hector Plus builds on the strengths of the regular SUV and adds two extra seats. MG has started bookings of this 6-seater car and if one were to book the car before August 13, 2020, they benefit. How? The company is set to increase the prices after that. Speaking of which, the new MG Hector Plus price in India begins from Rs 13.48 lakh and shoots to Rs 18.54 lakh, ex-showroom. If you think this is a wide range, it is. In there are all sorts of combinations of petrol/diesel engines and manual/automatic transmissions. There is also a hybrid powertrain. As far as bells and whistles go, all variants get 17-inch wheels as standard, with the spare one being a steel unit.

Safety has also been given paramount importance with extra strength steel being used. Here is a look at this SUV in images.

The SUV resembles the Hector in silhouette but has changes. This includes the grille, headlights, skid plates, bumpers and overall length as well as weight.

Head-on, the SUV seems quite imposing and removes the chrome elements found on the regular Hector. The new MG Hector Plus is also ever so slightly costlier than the Hector. However, in the lower variants, it is Rs 2 lakh lower to the Toyota Innova Crysta and Rs 4.5 lakh less in top variants.

The dual-pane panoramic sunroof is the biggest in its class and lends an airy feel to the cabin. Only the Sharp trim gets it

The cabin layout is the same as the regular Hector, except here one gets tan leather upholstery as well. Other niceties continue as the 5-seater vehicle.

Boot space with all the seats in place is 110 litres while when the rear bench is folded, it increases to 540 litres. Not bad, eh!
