All-new Mahindra Thar images, photo, pictures

The Mahindra Thar in its all-new avatar has been unveiled. The all-new Mahindra Thar looks heartbreakingly desirable. We at AutoAlive are already salivating at the thought of driving one. Actually, look at it as a poor man’s Wrangler and the desirability increases ten-folds. Yes, its that good. The short drive reviews done by media folks suggest that the SUV is indeed a heck of an improvement. It has got airbags in place, there is also the ABS with EBD. What’s more, hill-hold-descent function too is there. ESP too is part of the safety package and while there is no rear camera, parking sensors have been given. The new Thar goes on sale on October 2 and the bookings might start two weeks before that. Here then is a good look at what this new Mahindra has to offer.

The all-new Mahindra Thar looks much like a scaled-down Jeep Wrangler.

You won’t believe but this new Thar is still a sub-4m SUV. However, given the engines it is running, there will be no benefit given on those basis.

You climb into the new Mahindra Thar what with its 200mm plus ground clearance. You clamber into the cabin and that’s true even for those who are more than 6ft tall.

The all-new Mahindra Thar comes with three roof options – soft, hard and convertible. We have a hunch that the last option will be the most favoured.

New CEAT 18-inch wheels and chunky on-off road tyres add to the looks.

Sporty bucket seats for the new Thar. This will hold the occupants in place during off-road jaunts.
