The Yamaha R15 v3.0 MotoGP edition has been launched in India at Rs 1.30 lakh, ex-Delhi. The motorcycle boasts cosmetic additions and is Rs 3,000 more than the regular R15. The Yamaha R15 v3.0 MotoGP edition can be booked only on Yamaha India’s website. This is a limited to 3,800 units model and is available for booking from today. The booking continues till stocks last and the amount to be paid at the selected dealership is Rs 10,000. Yamaha says that the deliveries will begin within a month or 45 days.
What’s new in the Yamaha R15 v3.0 MotoGP edition
This model, as the name suggests, has Yamaha’s MotoGP stickers. It also gets ‘Yamaha Racing Blue’ colour with the aforementioned decals on the fairing, tank and side panels. The mechanicals are the same as the regular motorcycle. A 155cc liquid cooled single cylinder engine is used and it makes 19PS of power and 15Nm of torque. The motorcycle gets a 6-speed gearbox and the clutch is a slip and assist unit. There are disc brakes on both the ends. Yamaha gives a full LED light treatment to the R15 whereas the meters too are all digital.
Yamaha has also taken the opportunity to launch two new colour schemes for the FZ-S Fi. The two new colours are mattgreen and darknight. Yamaha has also introduced a rear disc brake on the FZ-S Fi. The price of the FZ-S Fi with rear disc brake is Rs 4,000 more at Rs 87,042, ex-Delhi. There is no change to the 13PS and 12.8Nm 149cc air cooled single cylinder engine. The Yamaha FZ which ran on a carburetor has now been discontinued altogether.
Deliveries of the freshly launched Cygnus Ray ZR Street Rally edition have also begun at all dealerships. Expect Yamaha to bring more such limited edition versions and colour schemes as the festive season approaches.
