Yamaha has been developing a 125cc scooter from ages. Precisely from 2016. Given that they finally launched it in 2019, the three-year development cycle is complete. Meet the new Yamaha Fascino 125. The Yamaha Fascino 125 price in India is Rs 66,430, ex-showroom. One can order the Fascino 125 with both disc as well as drum brake options. The disc version costs Rs 2,500 additional over the drum unit. Bookings as well as deliveries start from January 2020.
So, finally a Yamaha Fascino 125, eh?
Yes and we are glad that it arrived sooner. Like most Japanese motorcycle makers, Yamaha too decided to give its 125cc offerings the BS-VI stab. In fact, the Fascino is an all-new scooter that uses the proven Ray chassis. Yamaha has managed to shave 4kg off the kerb weight from that of its 110cc cousin. The Fascino 125 weighs in at a measly 99kg. The new Yamaha Fascino 125 is powered by an air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that makes 8.2PS of power and 9.7Nm of torque. Yamaha has equipped this engine with a start-stop system, much like the Destini 125. According to the company, this accords the scooter with a 16 percent better fuel efficiency than the 110. Moreover, there is also the silent starter that we have seen on the Activa 125. An engine side stand inhibitor too has been provided.
There is a youthful look to the Fascino now and though it doesn’t stray too far from the original 2016 design, the first impressions are positive. Yamaha has managed to add a digital instrument console to the mix. The underseat storage is 21 litres while the ground clearance is 145mm. Yamaha aims to have 18-24 year olds to throng its showrooms to buy the scooter. For this, seven colour options are available with this 125cc scooter.
