Volkswagen India has launched its second SUV in as many as 10 days. The Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace price in India at Rs 33 lakh may not have gone down well with the audience. However, the Volkswagen T-Roc price in India of Rs 20 lakh may not sit well too. After all, it’s Kia Seltos and Tata Harrier competitor. Volkswagen though claims to have more than 200 bookings and that’s a lot. Especially for a petrol-only CBU. Deliveries begin from mid-April.
What’s special in the Volkswagen T-Roc SUV?
The Volkswagen T-Roc SUV is built on the same platform as the Audi Q3. It has got a 5-star crash test rating from Euro NCAP. The SUV looks quite upmarket but also has the understated VW design language. All-LED headlights with DRLs as well as cornering lamps are available as standard. The T-Roc is available in a lone trim. Volkswagen has given a sort of coupe-ish appearance. 17-inch alloy wheels look the part as well while the rear has got LED lights too. The T-Roc comes with dynamic turn indicators like Audi cars.
Colour options for the Volkswagen T-Roc include Cucuma Yellow with Black Roof, Orange with Black Roof, Grey with Black Roof, Black Pearl, White with Black Roof and Blue with Black Roof.
Inside, one can see the floating cockpit theme. A 10.2-inch digital display has been provided with all essential car and infotainment related information. Volkswagen has also added an 8.5-inch touchscreen infotainment that hosts the usual smartphone connectivity as well as WeConnect Go. There are front powered seats and a panoramic sunroof too.
Power is provided via a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine from the Evo series. The engine makes 150PS of power and 250Nm of torque. The engine has cylinder deactivation feature and claims to sip less fuel. Paired to this engine is a front-wheel drive system and a 7-speed DSG.
In terms of safety, the new Volkswagen T-Roc SUV gets six airbags, ABS, ESC, proper seat belts for all occupants and ISOFIX tether. There is also tyre pressure monitoring and proper headrests for all.
