Tata Motors doesnt want to rest on its laurels. They are not only readying a BS-VI compliant Nexon but also a slight update with the model. This version was spotted at a parking lot recently. The updated Tata Nexon was spotted with a new steering wheel as well as cruise control buttons. The steering wheel is the same that one will get with the Altroz hatchback. It seems more of a flat-bottom unit but isn’t. Moreover, Tata Motors has also listened to customer feedback and incorporated cruise control. This is a feature which is present on competition models like the Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Venue as well as the Mahindra XUV300.
When will the updated Tata Nexon be launched?
Probably around Diwali. The next big Tata launch is the Altroz. We understand that it is delayed at the moment but the promotional leaked video suggests otherwise. Tata could introduce it as early as next month. Coming back to the updated Tata Nexon, the 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre petrol/diesel engines will run with new internals. There could be a slight drop in efficiency. The transmissions – 6-speed manual/AMT will continue as before. Expect a price hike to the tune of Rs 45,000 over the current models.
Tata Motors still has a bit of feature to add to the Nexon. This includes the sunroof and wireless charger options, something which its rivals offer. Adding these features will increase the price but also make the Nexon more attractive to buyers. It remains to be seen if Tata bites the bait and introduces the aforementioned luxury amenities. Currently, the Nexon comfortably sells more than 4,000 units each month. A Nexon EV is in the pipeline too and will be displayed at the 2020 Auto Expo. What do you think will be the price of the Nexon EV and will you buy it?
