TVS is known to launch special editions of its existing motorcycles and scooters. That being said, the scooters are the one that ring the cash registers and especially the special edition ones. Hello, Jupiter Grande we are looking at you! This time around, the TVS Star City+ Kargil edition has been launched. The Kargil edition is based on the regular Star City dual tone and is a commemoration to the armed forces. TVS recently celebrated Kargil Diwas across all its touch points. The TVS Star City+ Kargil edition price in India is Rs 54,399, Rs 1,000 more than the dual tone version, ex-showroom.
What’s new in the TVS Star City+ Kargil edition?
For starters, the motorcycle sports the armed forces liver. This includes shades of olive green as well graphics done in blue, white and green. Moreover, there is also a Kargil emblem on the back side of the motorcycle. These graphics are even present on the bikini fairing of the motorcycle.Mechanically, there aren’t any changes. One however does Synchronised Braking or SBT as TVS calls it. This is similar to CBS and applies both the brakes when the rear unit is brought in to play. This assures safe and lesser braking distance. The 110cc four-stroke single cylinder engine continues to produce 8.4PS and 8.7Nm. This engine is paired to a 4-speed transmission and the claimed fuel efficiency is 62.5kmpl.This Kargil edition will continue alongside the regular Star City+. However, come 2020, we believe that the Star City+ range will get a generation change. Currently, the motorcycle will compete with the Honda Livo and the Hero Passion Pro.
