TVS Jupiter ZX disc with i-Touchstart launched

TVS has bought back the disc brake variant in the Jupiter. Like before, it is the TVS Jupiter ZX that has got the disc brake. After the BS6 transition, TVS had removed the disc variant from the equation. Now, not only has the disc returned but it has also got in a new feature. This new feature is the one found in the TVS XL100 and is called the i-Touchstart. It basically is a mechanism like the Honda scooters and bikes. The traditional starter-motor is eliminated and in its place a noiseless system is introduced. TVS goes on to say that the system is not only maintenance-free but also enhances the battery life. An all-in-one lock too has been introduced that amalgamates the seat, steering, ignition and fuel tank cap. The TVS Jupiter ZX disc price in India is Rs 69,052, ex-showroom.

What else is new in the TVS Jupiter ZX disc variant?

The TVS Jupiter ZX disc comes only in three colours – Royal Wine, Matte Starlight Blue, and Starlight Blue. TVS’ Jupiter range begins from the standard variant at Rs 63,102, the ZX for Rs 69,052 and the Classic for Rs 69,602. Powering the scooter is a 110cc engine. This engine is fed by a fuel-injection system and makes 8PS of power as well as 8Nm of peak torque. Overall, a 15% better mileage than the BS4 unit is claimed. TVS also promises better startability in cold weather conditions, as well as durability and refinement.

The ZX comes with an LED headlight, mobile charger, 2-litre glovebox, as well as a 21-litre underseat storage. It gets telescopic front forks while the rear has pre-load adjustable shock absorbers. The Jupiter ZX is one of the few 110cc scooters available and especially one with a front disc brake. This will definitely add some weight (in terms of user preference) to this Honda Activa 6G rival.
