TVS iQube electric scooter launched in India at Rs 1.15 lakh

TVS had teased us with many new models previously. Most of these were electric vehicles. The manufacturer though never came around to launching any new electric products. However, TVS has just raised our hope and interest. The TVS iQube price in India is Rs 1.15 lakh, on-road Bengaluru. One can only order it through the TVS website as well as from 10 dealerships, with a booking amount of Rs 5,000. Other metros will get it at a later date, subject to infrastructure. This pragmatic approach is similar to what others like Ather as well as now Bajaj have followed. Bookings start from January 27.

TVS iQube sounds interesting! Give me details of the TVS iQube

The TVS iQube electric scooter has a design which is similar to a cube. Perhaps, that’s why the name. It has a 4.4kW electric motor that is paired with a Li-ion battery. The claimed range is 78km and there are two riding modes – Eco and Power. This is similar to what we have seen in the Wego as well as Jupiter scooter models. The top speed is 75kmph while 0-40kmph is dispatched in a claimed 4.2s. Considering the 118kg kerb weight as well as the undisclosed power output, it will be hard to decipher the performance unless we have a go at it. No word on the charging time but a charging adapter as well as cable are included with the e-scooter. It will also come with a fully-digital instrument console, similar to what has been showcased earlier with the NTorq. Moreover, it also has the next-level connected vehicle technology – includes riding statistics, navigation and more. First year SIM services are free after which one pays a nominal fee.

The scooter employs telescopic front forks, a disc brake, 12-inch wheels as well as combined braking tech. All-LED lights at the front as well as back are present. One can also put a full-face helmet under the seat too. From the look of it, the seat seems well padded and should be comfortable as well.
