TVS is still at it. After launching multiple new products this year and also bringing in a few refreshed vehicles, the company has spread its benovelence on the forgotten RTR 180. The new TVS Apache RTR ABS price in India is Rs 95,392. There is also the non-ABS version that is priced Rs 11,000 lower, ex-Delhi. The new TVS Apache RTR ABS colours in India include Pearl White, Gloss Black, T Grey, Matte Blue and Matte Red.
What’s new in the TVS Apache RTR ABS?
The new bits in the motorcycle include race inspired graphics, white back-lit speedometer, Alcantara-like seats, forged bar-end weights and crash guard with integrated frame sliders. TVS has also slightly altered the shape of the bikini fairing and made it more alluring. The parking lights are done in LED while the main headlight is still a halogen unit. ABS has always been part of the RTR 180 and thankfully the dual channel route has been maintained. The 2019 model refresh has been introduced because TVS recently claims to have sold three million Apaches in India.
TVS has retained the four-cylinder 180cc single cylinder air-cooled engine. This one makes 16.62PS of power and 15.2Nm of torque. The gearbox is a 5-speed unit. TVS claims a top speed of 114kmph. The TVS Apache RTR ABS competes with the Bajaj Pulsar 180 and the Hero Xtreme 200R. It was the first bike in its category to have dual channel ABS. While sales were on a high after launch, due to the advent of fresh competition, TVS lost ground. It is likely that with the advent of BS-VI norms, TVS may be forced to retire the current BS-IV compliant engine of the RTR 180. An-all new bike may be introduced however at this point of time, it is hard to say about further details. As and when we hear any announcement from TVS or see spy shots, you will be informed.
