Apart from the increased range which we will talk about in a bit, the good news is even personal buyers can buy it now. Yes, Tata Motors will offer the Tigor EV for both personal and commercial buyers. The earlier Tigor EV built for EESL customers will still be manufactured along side this one. The name suggests that the range has gone up. This is courtesy a 21.5kW Li-ion battery pack that’s bigger than before. The claimed range is 213km. So expect around 150km in real world. White, silver as well as blue are the Tata Tigor EV colour options. A single speed automatic transmission is available and there are Drive and Sport modes. Tata says that a warranty of three years or 1.25 lakh kilometres, whichever is earlier is applicable.

Both fast charging as well as AC are available with the Tigor EV. For this, two separate ports are present on the car. Moreover, Tata Motors is giving dual airbags as well as ABS with EBD on the XM+ and XT+ trims. The XE+ gets only a driver airbag. Alloy wheels are on offer with the XT+ trim. The ex-showroom prices of the vehicle are post FAME II subsidy schemes. This makes the Tigor EV, the most affordable electric car in the country. It’s competitor is the Mahindra e-verito that is available for Rs 10.15 lakh starting price and gets only a driver airbag. The claimed range is 181km.
