The Tata Nexon is one of the best selling models from the maker’s stables. More than 4,000 units are sold every month. Tata Motors has been consistently adding more trims as well as safety updates to this compact SUV. Now, it seems that the feature list is being updated. Tata Motors has silently introduced new features to the Nexon.
Sounds good! What are these features that you are talking of?
First of all, it is you the customer who is the reason for it. Apparently, Tata Motors has listened to customer feedback and thats why all these features have been added. For example, the rear air vents have been replaced with the airconditioning units. This means the front AC knobs will govern how much air the rear passengers should get. Moreover, the vents throw out cool air instead of the recirculated air earlier. The non-touchscreen infotainment system in the lower trims now gets a new font and crisper display. The radio antenna’s length has increased and this should lead to better reception signal.
There is also a rear charger socket now provided behind the back bench. Glossy piano black finish is now being applied on the gear knob, AC louvres and dashboard of the XZ trims. On the outside, the XT as well as XZ trims get sturdier roof rails. There are no changes on the base XE trim though.
Mechanically, the Tata Nexon continues to be powered by a 110PS/260Nm, 1.5-litre turbodiesel and a 110PS/170Nm, 1.2-litre turbopetrol. Both these engines are mated to a 6-speed manual box while an AMT is optional. Both the engine options get dual airbags, ABS with EBD, driver as well as co-passenger seat belt reminder and rear parking sensors. XZ trims get a reverse parking camera and a touchscreen infotainment system too. The Nexon is India’s first five star rated SUV.
