The Tata Altroz hasn’t got the success it deserved. The very capable premium hatchback has been averaging sales of around 1,000 units a month. This, when the others in its segment like the Hyundai Elite i20 and Maruti Suzuki Baleno have been averaging more than 4,000 units every month. This hasn’t stopped Tata Motors from updating the car. The Tata Altroz XT variant, which is two trims lower than the top one, gets a cool new feature. This is the useful automatic climate control system. While being previously relegated to the XZ and XZ (O) variants, now this feature has been added to both petrol and diesel XT models. A climate control system basically cools the cabin to a preset temperature by the user. It maintains this temperature unless changed by an external force.
How much do I have to pay more for the Tata Altroz XT with climate control?
The ex-showroom price of the Tata Altroz XT petrol is Rs 6.84 lakh while the diesel is for Rs 8.44 lakh, ex-showroom. This price is the same as before. Which means, the climate control feature is a free addition to the car. As far as other features in the Tata Altroz XT are concerned, it includes push-button start, cruise control, projector headlights, LED DRLs, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, 6-speaker music system and more.
Engine options include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel. The former makes 85PS of power and 114Nm while the diesel produces 90PS/200Nm. Both the engine options get a 5-speed manual as well as drive modes as standard. A turbo petrol is said to be in the works and could be introduced soon.
The Tata Altroz is one of the safest hatchbacks in India after being accorded a five-star rating by Global NCAP. Let us konow if you plan on buying the new Tata Altroz XT variant after this news!
