Suzuki Motorcycles India is busy rolling out special editions of its existing small motorcycle line-up. While earlier the Gixxers were launched in the SP edition, now is the time for the Intruder cruiser. The Suzuki Intruder SP has been launched at Rs 1.005 lakh while the Intruder SP Fi is priced at Rs 1.07 lakh, ex-Delhi. The motorcycles are available in Metallic Matte Black with Candy Sanoma Red accent colour. Bookings have started and deliveries will begin from next month.
What’s new in the Suzuki Intruder SP?
That’s a good question and before we answer it, you already know it. The aforementioned colour scheme makes the vehicle look more desirable. Standard front wheel ABS as well as a pillion back rest will enhance the safety as well as comfort factors respectively. As is evident, there is also the fuel injected variant that comes in at a premium. Thankfully no garish graphics have been used and the Intruder has a clean neat look.
Mechanically there are no changes in the very capable Suzuki Intruder. These include the bigger Intruder-inspired styling as well as a 155cc engine from the GIxxer. The Suzuki Intruder SP engine is fed via a carburettor and makes 14.8PS of power and 14Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The overall weight of the motorcycle is 148kg. Suzuki offers only alloy wheels with the Intruder and with disc brakes at both ends.
The Suzuki Intruder SP gets a LED headlight as well as taillight. It measures 2,130mm in length, 805mm in width and 1,095mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 1,405mm and the ground clearance is 170mm. Suzuki will likely move the entire fleet of vehicles to fuel injection given the stricter BS-VI norms coming in. Single channel ABS too will be on offer above 125cc offerings.
