Suzuki India has launched its final commuter motorcycle in BS6 form. The new Suzuki Intruder 150 BS6 price in India is now Rs 1.2 lakh, up by Rs 12,000. Currently it is the most affordable BS6 cruiser there. We still await news on the Bajaj Avenger 160 BS6. Suzuki in the meanwhile says that the BS6 Intruder has reached all authorised dealerships now.
Key points of the Suzuki Intruder 150 BS6
The Suzuki Intruder 150 BS6 hasn’t changed design wise. Ther headlamp still stays a halogen projector while the silhouette is borrowed from the now-defunct Intruder 1800. What has changed is under the skin. The Suzuki Intruder 150 BS6 boasts a compliant engine that makes 13.6PS and 13.8Nm. These numbers are down by 0.4PS and 0.2Nm. The gearbox is a 5-speed unit. The change here is the standardisation of fuel injection technology. Weight of the motorcycle at 152kg means mass has gone up by 2kg.
Mechanical components include a telescopic front suspension and a monoshock absorber at the rear. There are disc brakes on the front and back. ABS though is single channel, meaning it’s linked only to the front wheel. The 2019 update had brought in the pillion back rest as well as a slight update to the instrument console. Speaking of which, the instrument console is an all-digital affair and gets a speedometer as well as tachometer.
Commenting on the launch of BS6 compliant Intruder, Koichiro Hirao, managing director, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, “With Intruder, Suzuki forayed into the cruiser segment and began the era of ‘Urban Brotherhood’. As a modern day cruiser, the motorcycle offers premium appeal and distinctive on-road presence fulfilling daily need and making weekend rides enjoyable and exciting. We are sure that the BS6 compliant Suzuki Intruder will add many like minded members to the brotherhood clan.”
