We knew this was coming! Suzuki India, after giving a facelift for the SF150, are now doing the same to the Gixxer 150. The Suzuki Gixxer 150 facelift has now been leaked through a brochure scan. Images show an updated product that should be able to sustain the onslaught from the newer crop of Yamaha and Hero machines.
What’s new in the Suzuki Gixxer 150 facelift?
You see the face has become more sharper. There is also the all-LED headlight which is fast becoming a trend with makers all over. Suzuki will also give the all-digital instrument cluster a makeover with a white backlight. The handlebar is a flat piece though. Suzuki is also offering a split seat configuration. The tail pipe too has been updated and we expect it to have a similar design.
The engine should see a slight dip in power numbers considering that Suzuki is prepping it for the upcoming BS-VI norms. However, given the lower kerb weight, performance should still be peppy enough.
Of course, there will be single channel ABS on offer as well as a rear disc brake. Should the government amend the laws in future and want makers to adopt dual channel ABS, the rear disc should make things easier.
We expect the Suzuki Gixxer 250 to also make an appearance soon. The naked motorcycle will boast a similar output to the Gixxer SF250 but will have a slightly lower kerb weight.
Suzuki will price the Gixxer 150 slightly higher than the older model. This means a hike of Rs 3,000-4,000. The motorcycle should be in showrooms shortly.
