Suzuki Gixxer 150 BS6 launched in India at Rs 1.11 lakh

Suzuki has introduced the Gixxer 150 BS6 in India. The Suzuki Gixxer 150 BS6 price in India is Rs 1.11 lakh, ex-showroom. This price is Rs 10,000 over that of the BS4. At the same time, Suzuki has also launched the SF150 BS6 for Rs 1.21 lakh and the MotoGP edition for Rs 1.23 lakh, ex-showroom. All three bikes are now available in the showroom and can be booked immediately. Suzuki had earlier shown these vehicles at the Auto Expo 2020.

What’s new in the Suzuki Gixxer 150 BS6?

Suzuki has got an updated fuel injection system in place. There is also a catalytic converter. The 155cc engine is the same as before in terms of capacity. It however now makes a lower 13.6PS of power and 13.8Nm of torque. The BS4 bike made 14.1PS/14Nm. The gearbox is still a 5-speed manual. Single channel ABS has been provided too.

Just last year, Suzuki gave an update to the Gixxer twins along with launching the 250s. Both the Suzuki Gixxer 150 BS6 as well the faired version have got telescopic front suspension and a monoshock. Fully digital instrument clusters too are part of the package.

Both the motorcycles are the bread and butter of Suzuki’s motorcycle business in India. They are also the entry point in the Suzuki motorcycle range in India. The company has discontinued it’s 110 and 125cc commuters in India.

Commenting on the launch of BS6 compliant GIXXER series, Koichiro Hirao, managing director, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, “We feel proud to announce the launch of our BS6 compliant GIXXER series, ahead of the regulation deadline. Suzuki Motorcycle India has plans to grow at a robust pace with its flagship brand, GIXXER. Both BS6 compliant GIXXER SF and GIXXER, designed keeping the Indian customers in mind, have become even more environmental friendly.”
