Skoda India, just like other vehicle makers in the country, is trying to push sales of its slow selling models. The Skoda Rapid Rider price in India is Rs 7 lakh, ex-showroom and bookings have already started. Skoda dealers say that the deliveries will happen in a few weeks from now. They haven’t received the stocks of car yet.
What’s new in the Skoda Rapid Rider?
Only two colour options are available; carbon steel and candy white. There are black design elements being used. These accentuate the car’s design. There are black side foils, the wing mirrors have a black cap while the boot lid too has a black garnish. Inside, there is ebony sand dual tone layout while the upholstery is done in ivory slate. Moreover, there are also scuff plates on the front door with the Rapid inscription. In terms of security, one gets dual airbags, anti-lock braking system with EBD, engine immobiliser with floating code system, rough road package and rear parking sensors. There is also the front seat belt reminder as well as speed alert warning as per the government’s new rules for all four wheelers. The Skoda Shield Plus ensures six years of hassle-free ownership experience. It incorporates motor insurance, 24 x 7 road side assistance and an extended warranty.
The Skoda Rapid Rider is available only with a 1.6-litre petrol engine. This 104PS/153Nm naturally aspirated motor is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The claimed mileage is 15.41kmpl.
It could be that this is the last version of the Rapid before it undergoes a facelift or better still a new generation. Reports have started trickling about a new VW Vento and Polo in the pipeline.
