Skoda India has had a nearly quiet year. However, the brand is all set to go into full swing from now. Today, they launched the Kodiaq Scout. This is the second time that the Scout trim has been introduced in India. The first was for a very short while with the Fabia Scout. The Skoda Kodiaq Scout price in India is Rs 33.99 lakh, ex-showroom. Currently, there is the corporate edition as well as the L&K that is available with the Kodiaq in India. Bookings have started while deliveries will begin from a couple of weeks from now.

Rugged SUV elements make up the Scout trim. So, the Skoda Kodiaq Scout has got aggressive skid plates both in the front and back. The ground clearance too has been raised by 6mm. Skoda has also added new 19-inch dual tone alloy wheels. On the grille, ORVMs as well as roof rails, there is a silver finish. At the rear, there are no major changes. The Kodiaq Scout along with the entire Skoda SUV range in India is now compliant for the side crash safety as well as pedestrian protection.

Inside, you get a digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, umbrella holder, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible infotainment system and more. There is also the Scout badging on the seats plus the weathered-look leather upholstery. The front seats are ventilated too. Skoda is still offering the Kodiaq and the Scout as seven seaters.

Enhanced off-road hardware includes better approach as well as departure angles and are part of the Kodiaq Scout’s specifications. Off-road drive mode will be the key too and so will the prevalent all-wheel drive system. There is also underbody protection that has been specially added so that owners don’t scrape the belly and come with expensive repairs.

As far as the powertrain is concerned, it is still a BS-IV compliant. 150PS/340Nm, 2.0-litre TDI diesel. The engine is paired to a 7-speed DSG. Skoda is offering the standard four year warranty on the product while customers can also purchase an additional two years. The Kodiaq Scout will compete with the Mahindra Alturas, Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.
