Refreshed Renault Duster spotted in India

We reported this a couple of months ago. Renault India is looking to give a facelift to its best selling SUV, the Duster. Now, the refreshed Renault Duster has been spotted in its full glory, ahead of its imminent launch. The new Renault Duster is a facelifted version of the 2013 model. The latter has already seen a facelift in 2017 while an all-new model is available globally. Let’s take a look into what this model has got for now.

Refreshed Renault Duster details

This Duster is the time being product for the company. One that is likely to be the last flicker before the all-new SUV comes in. The refreshed Renault Duster will have a similar design language to the existing car. However, it will feature a fresh design complete with new paint schemes as well as features. The latter includes a bigger grille, projector headlights with LED guide lines, altered bumpers, chrome applique for the fog lamps, updated tail light design, plastic cladding on the tail and above the number plate holder as well as new roof rails. While not visible in the images, the alloys too will have a new design.

Inside, new upholstery, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, auto dimming IRVM and more can be expected. The instrument cluster too will be a semi-digital unit. In the safety department, all Renault Duster trims will have ABS with EBD, dual airbags, rear parking sensors, front seat belt warning and speed alert system as standard. The top trims will also have ISOFIX child seat tethers as well as a reverse camera.

Any changes to the engine?

It is unlikely that Renault will switch to BS-VI with the refreshed Duster. However, we expect to see that 1.5-litre diesel in 110PS guise and the 104PS, 1.5-litre petrol to continue. The claimed mileage may have gone up a bit too. The choice of 5-speed manual/CVT for the petrol and 6-speed manual/AMT for the diesel will continue.

All these changes will come at a slightly higher price than before. Expect Renault to make a former announcement soon.
