The all-new Maruti Suzuki Celerio has been spotted testing by the trustworthy guys at Gaadiwaadi.com. The car is under camouflage but certain details are visible. First of all, the alloy wheels have a new interesting design. Something that we like. The car also appears to be bigger in size than the outgoing version. It seems that the wheelbase too has gone up and the car could feature better space for occupants. Additionally, the feature list too may have gone up, especially with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the core. Expect a slightly higher price tag than the outgoing model and a far better distinguishing between WagonR as well as Celerio. Here then are the changes we expect in the next-gen Maruti Celerio when it is launched next year.
What are the changes in the next-gen Maruti Celerio?
The next-gen Maruti Celerio is based on the Heartect platform. This means it is lighter and could also be safer. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity will be dialled in as well. There could also be climate control on offer, making it the only other small car apart from Swift to feature it from the Maruti fold. Rear AC vents might also be dialled in though the possibility of it is quite low. As far as external appearances go, there could be DRLs as well as projector headlights in the top-spec variants.
As far as the engine is concerned, the Celerio could move to the new 1.2-litre engine from the Dzire. This engine makes 90hp of power and 114Nm. No smart hybrid system with this one. However, there will be a choice of manual as well as AMT with this engine. The fuel efficiency will be around 23kmpl.
Dual airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors are standard. The car should be a hit considering how it was received initially.
