After unveiling the Hyundai Tucson yesterday, the Korean carmaker has revealed the new 2020 Hyundai Creta. The Creta has been the most successful premium product, dominating the premium compact SUV. The new Creta gets the signature cascade grille, a revised front bumper, new LED headlamps with a fresh LED DRL layout and fog lamps. The revisions are also seen on the profile with a new alloy design and different lines and pronounced wheel arches that add muscle. The tail is all new with its cuts and creases and the new tail lamps that represent the vertical headlamps. What needs to be noted is that the Creta has now moved to the new platform which also spawns the Kia Seltos and you can expect better space and handling from the same.
Moving to the interior, the instrument cluster, the dashboard design, the touchscreen display have all been given a new lease of life with the refreshing changes. The features list continues to be longer than ever before with smart Blue Link connectivity, electrically adjustable driving seat, rear AC vents, split folding rear seats et al. It also gets a class first- a panoramic sunroof, something that the Creta buyer would certainly be interested in. In terms of safety the class leading six airbags package along with ABS, ESP and other safety aids like parking sensors and camera will also be available on the Creta depending on the trims.
Finally, the Creta gets the new BS-VI compliant engines based on the same 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel engines and the 1.6 litre petrol engine as well. You have both the manual and automatic gearbox options for the 1.6- litre engines with the manual having a six-speed transmission.
The Creta will compete with the likes of the Renault Duster, the Kia Seltos, the MG Hector and the upcoming launches from various brands in this segment.
