Mini Countryman Black Edition launched in India at Rs 42.40 lakh

Mini India has launched a limited edition version of the Countryman. The Mini Countryman Black Edition price in India is Rs 42.40 lakh. This price is Rs 1 lakh over that of the regular JCW Inspired version, ex-showroom. There will only be 24 units sold and one needs to book it at their nearest Mini dealership. Compared to this, the JCW Pro that was introduced two years ago had a limited run of 20 units and could be booked online as well. From what we heard last, three units have already been accounted for.

What do you get in the Mini Countryman Black Edition?

As the name suggests, the Mini Countryman Black Edition brings in lots of black detailing. This is evident in the grille, matte black bonnet stripes, carbon-fibre wing mirrors, black 18-inch alloys as well as the bold black Countryman lettering on the tail. There are also black surrounds for the headlights as well as tail lamps. Lest you didn’t know, this model can only be ordered in this black palette.

Equipment-wise, there is no lacking as this is the range topping model. So the entire John Cooper Works body kit is something that you will get with this model. Powered front seats, keyless entry, automatic LED headlights, auto wipers, dual zone climate control, 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and panoramic glass pane are available. There are siz airbags in place, ABS with EBD, rear parking camera ESC, brake assist and front parking sensors. All-wheel disc brakes too are provided.

There is no change in that fantastic engine. This Mini Countryman uses a 2.0-litre turbo petrol that produces 192PS of power and 280Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission is paired to this engine. The 0-100kmph time is less than 8s while the top speed is 230kmph. The Countryman is modelled more on the lines of a crossover in the Mini range and competes with the Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1 and Volvo XC40.
