MG ZS EV India launch price is Rs 20.88 lakh

MG, the British marque launched in India by SAIC, the Chinese automotive giant, has launched their second product in India, the MG ZS EV electric SUV for a price tag of Rs. 20.88 lakh. There are two trims – Excite and Exclusive, with the latter costing Rs 23.58 lakh. The ZS is a global product and while it gets conventional powertrains elsewhere, India gets it only in the electric avatar.
Powered by a 44.5kWh battery pack, the motor delivers a whopping 353Nm of torque and 143PS of power right from the word go and hits 100kmph in just 8.5 seconds. The claimed range is 340km. It gets driving modes to suit your needs and to maximize it’s range with different levels of regenerative braking.
In terms of design, the MG ZS EV is an all now product that gets the MG face but with a diamond-grille for it to stand out as an EV. The five-seater compact luxury SUV competes with the Hyundai Kona electric SUV and in conventional cars it competes with the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and the higher variants of the Kia Seltos.

Inside, the MG ZS is a smart- connected car with apps like Gaana and AccuWeather integrated into its touchscreen infotainment system. It also gets an independent app to analyse and control the car usage, While it can be charged using the fast chargers available at MG dealerships within 50 minutes, the domestic charger fills it up in less than 8 hours. There is also a fast charger that one can tell MG to install in their home or office. The cost is included in the ex-showroom price. Amongst green gadgets, it gets air purifying system and also a CO2 counter to show how much you have contributed towards saving the environment. The hybrid instrument cluster includes a multi-function display which reads all the vitals including the dynamic range computer.

For the early buyers, MG has declared a concession of Rs 1 lakh. These are the people who booked the ZS EV before 17th of January. MG is also offering an eight year warranty on the battery or 1.5 lakh km, whichever is earlier. There are labor free services as well as five year free roadside assistance too. MG is in the process of setting up more electric charging stations at key places on the highway.
