MG Hector launched in India at 12.18 lakh; boasts class-leading warranty

MG had to pull a rabbit out of the hat. The Kia Seltos unveil a few days ago had taken everyone back to their board rooms. This is what MG did too. The brand collected feedback from auto journalists as well as prospective customers and came to a final price. The MG Hector has been launched in India now. It’s price in India starts from Rs 12.18 lakh and goes all the way to Rs 16.88 lakh, ex-showroom. There are four trims and deliveries start from day.

You mentioned something about the warranty…

Yes, the Hector offers five years and unlimited kilometres warranty. This is standard for both commercial and private owners. Not only this, the Hector also gets five year roadside assistance and five free periodical services that also include consumables and labour. That’s not all. MG also offers a host of service package options for five or three years. These packages cost less than Rs 80,000 in the long run and be it for petrol or diesel.
You already know that the Hector runs petrol as well as diesel engines. Only the petrol comes with an optional mild hybrid as well as 6-speed dual clutch automatic. There are two different versions of the same petrol motor, one is the hybrid and another is non-hybrid. All versions are available with a 6-speed manual as standard.

The talking point of the Hector is its long list of features and most of which are standard. There is the panoramic sunroof, 10.4-inch touchscreen system as well as front parking sensors and a 360-degree vision camera. Moreover, the Chinese equivalent of the Hector has scored a 5-star safety rating with the same features. It is expected that the Hector, which is locally made in Halol, should have a higher crash test rating as compared to its peers.
