MG Hector facelift launched in India; 7-seater, new features

MG India has launched the Hector facelift. The MG Hector facelift price in India has not been increased though. It still retails at a very competitive price – Rs 12.90 lakh – Rs 18.53 lakh, ex-showroom. There is an increase from Rs 6,000 – Rs 44,000. MG also took the opportunity to give the Hector Plus 6- seater new features and introduced the 7-seater version as well. The bookings have started and a couple of people we know have already got deliveries as well. The new features not only make it future-proof but also add value to the entire package that the Hector is known for. MG has priced the Hector 6-seater models at Rs 17.12 lakh – Rs 18.69 lakh whereas the 7-seaters are for Rs 13.35 lakh – Rs 18.33 lakh, ex-showroom. Competition includes the Mahindra XUV500, Toyota Innova Crysta and Hyundai Creta.

What new features are there in the MG Hector facelift?

The MG Hector facelift brings along with it new bumpers, grille as well as a switch to 18-inch alloy wheels. New scuff plates are also available at the front as well as rear. MG also offers a new Starry Blue exterior paint scheme with the car. A dual-tone interior is the change in the cabin. On the top-spec trims, MG offers ventilated front seats as well as wireless phone charging. An auto dimming IRVM too has been added to the equation. The i-SMART system now can understand Hinglish commands as well and 31 of them.

All three versions of the MG Hector facelift come with the same set of engines – a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel motor. There still is no diesel-automatic available and it could be a while before MG comes up with one as well. MG offers a value-for-money proposition, bringing in the Hector and giving customers a much bigger SUV with best-in-class features. The 7-seater gets a bench in the middle row and two seats at the back.
