MG Hector Dual Delight launched in India; marginally costlier

The SUV flood doesn’t seem to abate and for once we’re happy. The rising competition means there will no longer be a compromise of features, reliability as well as pricing. MG India seems to set the ball rolling. Almost four new launches in less than two years of setting itself up in India, is quite good by any standards. The latest MG to hit the showrooms is the Dual Delight. The MG Hector Dual Delight model price in India starts from Rs 16.84 lakh. This price is Rs 20,000 more than that of the corresponding Super variant. Customers get the option of two colours – Glaze Red with Starry Black and Candy White with Starry Black. As is evident the body colour is what one ordered whereas the roof will be black.

Why the MG Hector Dual Delight variants?

Given that folks like Hyundai with Creta, Nissan with Kicks, Kia with Selto and Tata with Harrier have been doing dual tone roofs, it was natural of MG to take this route. Bookings have started whereas the deliveries will begin next month. Based on the auspicious factor dialled in, many customers are deferring their delivery. Along with the roof, the ORVMs, and A-pillars too have been painted black.

There are no other changes to the MG Hector Dual Delight. Earlier this year, the SUV was given the BS6 treatment. Prices were increased too. MG also introduced the 6-seater Hector with the Plus version. It is fair enough that the MG Gloster which is scheduled for a October launch will receive a rousing welcome. MG India seems to have crammed the SUV with features which should give it the edge over the Fortuner, Endeavour and Alturas G4. In fact, the feature list rivals those of few BMW cars and that’s the card MG will play. Lower cost of acquisition and higher value-for-money features.
