Maruti Suzuki Wagon R limited edition launched in India

Ahead of the festive season like other manufacturers, Maruti Suzuki is also launching limited editions of its products in India. The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R limited edition is available for sale now. It is basically a kit that Maruti is giving at a discount. The company hasn’t said on which trim the limited edition is based. It has however mentioned that there are two kits available. These are priced at Rs 15,490 and Rs 25,490 respectively. Maruti claims that these accessories package is priced much lower than the market value.

Like every other special or limited edition, the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R limited edition also boasts some enhancements. These include body graphics and a rear spoiler on the outside. Inside, there are new seat covers. Maruti also offers a cushion set, double-DIN Pioneer music system with speakers and Bluetooth connectivity. There are also reverse parking sensors being offered with the new Maruti Suzuki Wagon R limited edition.

Any changes to the engine of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R limited edition?

Unfortunately no. There is still a conventional 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 68PS of power and 110Nm of torque. One can order this motor with a 5-speed manual or an AMT. A CNG option is also available.  Maruti had showcased a Wagon R electric prototype a few weeks earlier. This model though will be ready only by late 2019. Maruti is also in the process of introducing an all-new Wagon R sometime next year.  The engine might be updated for enhanced fuel efficiency given that it will be BS-VI compliant as well. Maruti may also accommodate the mild hybrid system with the new Wagon R.

This vehicle will not only be the most spacious in its class but will also gets two airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors as standard. There will likely be a touchscreen infotainment system.
