Maruti Suzuki has launched the Vitara Brezza facelift. This is the same model that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza petrol (the diesel has been discontinued) price in India starts from Rs 7.34 lakh while the top-end model is for Rs 11.40 lakh, ex-Delhi. Bookings had started from the time of the expo and so those who had booked the vehicle then, will be getting deliveries now. The Brezza petrol will retail from regular showrooms (Arena) and not from Nexa. At the same time, few dealers still have stocks of the diesel model. However, there are scarce discounts as this version is now much coveted too.
Does the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza petrol come with a mild hybrid?
The 1.5-litre engine is the cause of the price hike. While the Brezza is still a sub-4m vehicle, the bigger (than 1.2-litre norm) engine ensures that the price is a bit high. This 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder BS6 petrol engine produces 103PS of power and 138Nm. One can pair this engine with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. It is rather strange that the automatic gets the mild hybrid option. It is being said that keeping the profile of the buyer in mind, this decision has been taken. The claimed mileage is 17.03kmpl for the manual while the automatic gets a higher 18.76kmpl.
As far as changes in the “facelift” are concerned, there is the LED projector headlight with DRLs, new fog lamps, bumpers and a slightly revised tail. Inside, there is a new upholstery and the Smart Studio infotainment system. There is no sunroof yet but the cruise control persists. The Vitara Brezza is decently roomy and has good boot space too. Maruti offers a warranty of two years or 40,000 kilometre, whichever is earlier with the Brezza facelift in India.
