The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2018 facelift has been launched in India at Rs 8.19 -10.59 lakh, ex-Delhi. The new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2018 gets four trims for the two variants. These are Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha for the petrol and diesel variants. Bookings had already started a few days back while the deliveries start from today.
All-new to the Ciaz is a petrol engine that is 1,500cc but makes 105PS of power and 138Nm of torque. This engine gets a dual battery and comes with SHVS, like the diesel. This means SHVS is standard across the range. It also boasts torque assist function. The claimed fuel efficiency of this engine is 21.5kmpl for the manual whereas the automatic delivers 20.28kmpl. The manual transmission is a 5-speed unit while the automatic is a 4-speed torque converter. Hill Hold Assist as well as ESP are standard for the automatic trims. The diesel engine is the tried and tested 1.3-litre unit from Fiat. It makes 90PS of power and 200Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is the only option here. The claimed fuel efficiency is 28.09kmpl. ESP is standard for the diesel trims.
The looks of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2018 too have been changed. The grille is a new honeycombe unit and looks good. There are LED projectors on the top-spec trims while the lower variants get projector lights. LED DRLs too have been added to the mix now. If you opt for the Alpha trims, you get the LED fog lights at the front too. The 16-inch alloy wheels are now dual tone. Except for the base Sigma trim, all others get alloy wheels.
As far as cabin decor goes, the instrument cluster is new and the top of the line trims get leather upholstery. There is also wood trim running across the length of the dashboard. The infotainment system gets MirrorLink capability now. The Ciaz is one of the sedans in its category which has good legroom and the same continues.
Safety equipment is standard which means dual airbags, speed alert system, ABS with EBD, speed alert reminder and rear parking sensors. There is also reverse camera for the top trims. The Ciaz is exclusively available at the 200+ Nexa showrooms in India. It takes on the new Honda City, Hyundai Verna and the Toyota Yaris.
