Maruti Suzuki has launched a limited edition of its very popular hatchback, the Baleno, in India. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno limited edition is based on the Delta trim and gets cosmetic additions. The approximate price over the Delta trim is Rs 28,000. The vehicle is available for booking now and deliveries begin immediately as well. One can order the Maruti Suzuki Baleno limited edition in both petrol and diesel trims.
What’s extra in the Maruti Suzuki Baleno limited edition?
Lots of cosmetic changes. Like in the Ignis limited edition, this one also gets side, front as well as rear body skirts. There is also the side moulding. Inside, you will see the door sill guard which is illuminated, carbon highlight black quilted seat covers and 3D floor mats. You will also get cushions, premium tissue box and Nexa key ring and Smart Key finder.
There are no changes to the 1.2-litre 84PS/114Nm petrol and 75PS/190Nm 1.3-litre diesel engines. Both can be ordered with 5-speed manual transmissions. However, the petrol also comes with a CVT.
The Baleno has been in the market since 2015 and hasn’t received a facelift yet. It sells around 10,000 units each month and has been on the top 10 best selling cars list in India. Maruti recently ramped up production, thereby reducing the wait time. It competes with the Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and the Volkswagen Polo. Safety features such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat anchorages are standard across the range. The variant list is Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The last three variants also get an automatic derivative.
While Maruti hasn’t spoken about this, the Baleno will likely receive a facelift soon. Expect test mules of the facelifted version to be out by the end of this year. The limited edition has been brought out now to bring a flavour in the festive season sales.
