We had reported this before that the Maruti Baleno facelift is in the offing and while a few hazy pictures were available earlier, there are now clear images or rather an image. The facelifted Maruti Baleno was spotted at the company’s Manesar facility. It details out the changes to the front end. The new Maruti Baleno facelift should be in showrooms in a few months. There will be a minor price increase but the corresponding increment in the feature list should definitely negate it. What are these features that we are referring to? Scroll down.
Maruti Baleno facelift feature list changes
The Baleno currently is sold in Sigma, Zeta, Delta and Alpha trims. The Maruti Baleno facelift that was spotted seems to be a Delta trim primarily because of the steel wheels in question. Maruti will start offering projector headlights on the Delta trim. Earlier these HID projectors were restricted to only the top-spec Alpha trim. However, now the Alpha will get LED projectors. The face of the car too undergoes a change as we can see from here. This includes a slightly altered grille, new bumpers and the fog lamps now sit a tad higher up and have a vertical design.
With the more important part of the facelift already covered, let’s move on to the set of other features we spoke about earlier. These include speed sensitive door locks, a speed alert system, seatbelt reminder for driver and co-passenger and rear parking sensors. The Baleno as it is was a feature loaded car and these updates will definitely make it even more alluring. Currently, Maruti moves around 15,000 units each month and there is also a waiting period of two months. Looks like with the facelift, the order books are going to fill out even faster.
There will be no mechanical changes and the Maruti Baleno facelift will continue to run a 84PS/114Nm 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 75PS/190Nm diesel. A 5-speed manual is standard while the petrol will get an optional CVT.
