Mahindra TUV300 Plus launched in India at Rs 9.47 lakh

Mahindra has launched the TUV300 Plus in India at Rs 9.47 lakh, ex-Mumbai. There are three trims available P4 for Rs 9.47 lakh, P6 for Rs 9.83 lakh and P8 for Rs 10.86 lakh. The Mahindra TUV300 is based on the new Scorpio chassis and is not an elongated version of the TUV300 as was popularly assumed. There are five colours to choose from. Bookings as well as delivery has already started.

The Mahindra TUV300 Plus borrows the same face as the TUV300 while the rear seems a bit elongated. It is done to accommodate nine seats. Mahindra as is to be expected has used many of the TUV 300’s panels in the Plus variant. The other difference is in the wheels which are now 215/70 R16. Dimensions of the TUV300 Plus are 4,400mm x 1,835mm x 1,812mm for the length, width and height respectively.

Inside, the upholstery has been done by Pininfarina. The dashboard includes the 7-inch touchscreen system that is also has an integrated GPS navigation, ECO mode functionality, 4 speakers, Mahindra BlueSense app and Driver Information System. The seats are done in faux leather on the top-spec P8 trim. The steering wheel has audio and Bluetooth telephony controls. Other features include follow-me-home headlights, driver seat height adjust, rear defogger and storage tray below the driver’s seat.

Mahindra haven’t used the same engine as in the TUV300. In fact, its a new engine from the Scorpio – 2.2-litre mHawkD120 turbocharged diesel unit that makes 120PS of power and 280Nm of torque. A new six speed manual gearbox handles the transmission department. No efficiency numbers have been claimed but we expect the TUV300 Plus to give around 15kmpl given that it comes with an Eco mode, brake regeneration technology and Micro Hybrid tech.

The suspension components are the same as the regular TUV and these include Comfort Suspension tech that we have seen on the smaller SUV. Dual airbags, ABS along with EBD are standard on TUV 300 Plus.  An annual maintenance contract of 0.31/km and extended warranty of up to 5 years is being offered on the TUV300 Plus.
