KTM India has finally launched the 200 Duke with ABS. The KTM 200 Duke ABS price in India is Rs 1.60 lakh, ex-Delhi. KTM also sells the non-ABS version of the 200 Duke at Rs 1.52 lakh. Both the models are available for booking today. KTM dealers say that deliveries will take around a week to be fulfilled. The KTM 200 Duke ABS will be available in three colours; Orange, White and Black across 450 exclusive KTM showrooms in India.
What’s new in the KTM 200 Duke ABS?
The name says it all. The KTM 200 Duke ABS comes with single channel Anti Lock Braking system. This is non switchable like on the 390 Duke. Weight of the 200 Duke ABS has increased by two kilos over the non-ABS model. All the suspension components like the WP forks in front and the monoshock at the rear have been retained. KTM India uses a trellis frame for the 200 Duke. Disc brakes are employed at both ends.
The 200 Duke continues to be powered by a four-valve head and is liquid cooled. This engine produces 25PS and 19.2Nm, is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. A fully digital instrument cluster is also offered. Currently, the 200 Duke is the most affordable motorcycle in the KTM India range. It will shortly be joined by the 125 Duke. This one too will have single channel ABS.
According to the new government mandate, motorcycles above 125cc that have been launched post April 2018 need to have ABS. Bikes with lower capacity need to have combined braking system. From April 2019, all new vehicles manufactured will have to comply with the above law.
Commenting on the introduction of the new KTM 200 Duke ABS, Amit Nandi, president (Probiking) at Bajaj Auto Ltd. said “With the addition of ABS our customers will now have choice of both ABS and non-ABS versions on the KTM 200 Duke.”
