After the success of the Seltos, Kia has unveiled another concept SUV at the Auto Expo 2020 called the Sonet. This concept SuB will spawn a sub 4m car to compete with the likes of Tata Nexon, Vitara Brezza and Ford Ecosport.
The Sonet will be the third car in India after the Carnival MPV and has been built on an entirely new platform. In terms of design, it sticks to the Kia roots and gets a fairly square fascia, the signature grille and the high perched headlamps. The overall design is also quite square, much suited for the Indian taste. It gets LED DRLs, LED headlamps and a smart sensors for parking.
Inside, the layout is futuristic as this a concept but expect the Sonet to match the Seltos’ level of quality and finish along with loads of features like touchscreen display, connectivity, safety aids like ABS, Airbags etc. Under the hood of the Sonet, we should see the debut of the smaller engines from the Kia stable including the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a diesel mill probably sourced from the Hyundai Venue.
