FCA India has officially launched the Jeep Compass Trailhawk. The off-road focused SUV sits at the top of the Compass lineup and is priced at Rs 26.8 lakh (ex-showroom, all India). This price is Rs 3.7 lakh over the Limited Plus trim. The Compass Trailhawk is manufactured in India.
So what makes Jeep Compass Trailhawk Special?
Unlike the standard Compass variants that are more focused on features and comfort, the Compass Trailhawk is dedicatedly worked on for its all-terrain off road capabilities which is in the DNA of Jeep. The SUV packs a BS VI compliant 2.0-litre 170PS/350Nm turbodiesel engine that can also run on BS IV diesel and comes mated with a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk also comes with many additional features like engine stop/start, cruise control, hill descent control and built-in navigation to count a few. The new engine is also six per cent more fuel efficient than before. To tackle the off road obstacles smoothly, the 4×4 system of the Trailhawk comes with Jeep Active Drive 4×4 low ratio.
Talking about off road capabilities, the Compass Trailhawk has a higher ground clearance than the standard version, by about 30mm. Also, the water wading height is also increased and it can be driven in the water with depth of up to 840mm. As part of the safety package, six airbags, electronic parking brake, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill start assist, hill descent control and roll-over mitigation are available. At this price though, the SUV
misses out on a panoramic sunroof as standard (Rs 70,000 option). Other convenience features like an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, auto headlamps as well as wipers are also absent. We believe Jeep should have offered this as a better value for money proposition.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is now available for purchase with immediate effect across 82 FCA-all brand retail touch points across the country.
