The Jeep Compass is perhaps the only model from the hallowed SUV maker that sells well in the Indian market. It also got a BS6 update as well as a new transmission. Now for 2021, the Jeep Compass is set to get some major changes with a facelift. The Jeep Compass facelift will be launched in India on January 7, 2021. Bookings for the model are already underway. There is a new green paint scheme, with a slightly reworked face, bumpers and all. The higher-spec variants will get a full complement of LED headlights. There are honeycomb inserts on the grille. The alloy wheels too are new. This new version of the Jeep Compass will be sold online as well as through the dealerships. The changes on the inside have been detailed below.
Jeep Compass facelift interior, engine changes
So, not only has the exterior been revised but the cabin has been brought up-to-date. A bigger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UConnect5 technology will be added. It gets Amazon Alexa support, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is expected that quality as well as build of the Jeep Compass will improve significantly. A fully-digital instrument console as well as panoramic sunroof and new steering wheel are also part of the changes.
As far as engines are concerned, the 2.0-litre Multijet II turbo diesel engine will continue to put 173PS of power and 350Nm. It will be offered with a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic. The petrol engine could be the new 1.3-litre turbo unit. This engine is likely going to be torquier as well frugal than the outgoing 1.4. The choice of transmission stays the same – 6-speed manual/7-speed DCT.
While the Compass is a fairly costly car, the facelift will be even more. The Jeep Compass facelift price in India could start from 17 lakh and go up to Rs 27 lakh, ex-showroom. At this price point, it locks horns with the Skoda Karoq, Volkswagen T-Roc, and the Hyundai Tucson.
