Jeep India had promised that they will have a special edition of the Compass soon. The Jeep Compass Black Pack edition has now been launched in India at Rs 20.25 lakh, ex-Mumbai. There are three trims on offer – diesel Limited 4×2 (O), diesel Limited 4×4 (O) and petrol Limited (O) automatic. The prices for the 4×4 diesel and petrol automatic are Rs 22.03 lakh and Rs 20.58 lakh respectively. As is obvious here, the Black Pack is based on the Limited trim and will be available for the next 30 days. Booking have already started at Rs 50,000 at Jeep dealerships.
What’s new in the Jeep Compass Black Pack edition?
Changes to the Jeep Compass Black Pack edition include Vocal White, Minimal Grey and Magnesio Grey body colours. There are new 17-inch gloss alloy wheels, black ORVMs as well as black leather upholstery. Contrary to popular belief, the Jeep Compass Black Pack will not get a sunroof. That will be limited to erm…the Limited Plus trim which will be launched at a later date.
The Jeep Compass Black Pack edition has the same mechanicals as the Limited trim it is based on. This means the petrol engine is a 1.4-litre turbo unit and makes 163PS of power and 250Nm of torque. It can be ordered with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual clutch automatic. The diesel in the meanwhile is a 2.0-litre turbo unit that puts out 173PS and 350Nm. It can be availed only with the 6-speed manual transmission.
In the coming days, Jeep will bring in the Limited Plus trim which will have more bells and whistles than any other Compass trim. After a few months, the Jeep Trailhawk will also make its way. It will be the most off-road capable Jeep Compass that will be available in India. Jeep had also recently introduced the Bedrock edition. It was again purely cosmetic in nature. Jeep India has so far sold 25,000+ units of the Compass since launch in 2017.
