Jeep India has launched the Compass Bedrock edition for Rs 17.53 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The Jeep Compass Bedrock is based on the Sport trim of the regular SUV and is Rs one lakh more than the price of the latter. Jeep has launched the Compass Bedrock to celebrate the 25,000 unit sales of the Compass SUV from its Indian plant. The original Jeep Compass was launched on July 31 last year. Jeep says that it has limited units of the Bedrock SUV on sale. Sales will start from July 1, 2018.
The Jeep Compass Bedrock brings with it 16-inch gloss black alloys, side step for easy access to the seats and for getting out, Bedrock badges and decals, black roof rails, reverse parking camera and Bedrock-branded seat covers. Since it is based on the diesel Sport trim, the engine of choice remains the 2.0-litre Multijet II that makes 173PS of power and 350Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and drives the front wheels. The claimed fuel efficiency of the Jeep Compass Sport Bedrock is 17.1kmpl.
Currently, Jeep India is in the process of launching the Compass Trailhawk trim in the market. This full-blown SUV will have no competitor in its segment given the legendary off-roading equipment it will bring to the table. While the top-spec Compass Limited trim goes for Rs 22 lakh currently, expect the Trailhawk to add another lakh and half to the price tag.
