Jawa Perak BS-VI launched in India at Rs 1.94 lakh: Costlier than before but cleaner

Jawa Perak BS-VI

Jawa Motorcycles has announced a new launch. Well, it is not a new one. Exactly around the same time last year, Jawa had launched three motorcycles. It was said at that point of time that the Perak will go on sale at a later date. Jawa though announced the price of the motorcycle – Rs 1.89 lakh. However, this year the motorcycle didn’t go on sale. Now, Jawa has got a BS-Vi Perak on sale. The Jawa Perak BS-VI price in India is now Rs 1.94 lakh. Bookings of the motorcycle will start from January 1, 2020 while deliveries will begin from April.

What has changed in the new Jawa Perak BS-VI?

As far as the powertrain is concerned, it has changed. The BS-VI internals though haven’t brought any change in the cubic capacity. The motor is a 334cc, liquid cooled, DOHC unit that still makes 30PS of power and 31Nm of torque. Jawa has retained the 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle has got twin exhausts too. This is the most affordable Bobber motorcycle that you can buy today. This one has a single seat too. To retain the authentic Bobber experience, Jawa has provided the motorcycle with spoke wheels. The Jawa Perak BS-VI is housed in a tweaked chassis with an all-new swingarm. Jawa says that the increase in the wheelbase over the other motorcycles in the fold has helped achieve better stability.

Jawa says that it knows that the deliveries of its previous motorcycles, the Jawa and Forty Two have been slow, production has been ramped up. The waiting time has now been cut and one will start getting deliveries sooner. To put it in time, the waiting period is going to be less than three months. The entire Jawa portfolio will move to the BS-VI very soon. It is likely that the prices too will go up, however given the trend, it should be less than Rs 6,000 over the BS-IV.
