Hyundai India has finally showcased the all-new Aura sedan. This is the Xcent replacement and will go on sale next year in February. An Auto Expo 2020 launch is highly likely and the prices of this sedan are expected to fall between Rs 6-9 lakh, ex-showroom. Hyundai is going all out with this compact sedan. Don’t believe us? Check the features below.
Okay, tell me more about the Hyundai Aura features, please
The Hyundai Aura sedan in its top trim comes with a wireless charger, air purifier, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, rear view driving monitor, 5.3-inch digital speedometer and more. Moreover, there is an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is supplied with Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay. Hyundai has trickled its premium Arkamys music system into the package too. Hyundai has stretched the wheelbase of the car by 25mm and this should mean more legroom in the cabin. The boot space though is down by a couple of litres and now stands at 402. The Hyundai Aura also comes with 3 years/100,000 kms or 4 years /50,000 kms or 5 years /40,000 kms along with road-side assistance.
What’s new with the engines
Hyundai says that all three engines are all-new. There are three engines to be exact. These include 1.2-litre petrol/diesel powertrains like before. The petrol makes 83PS and 114Nm while the diesel produces 75PS and 190Nm. Both these engines are offered with a 5-speed manual as standard while an AMT is optional. Hyundai has also added a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine to the mix. This one promises 100PS of power and 170Nm. With this engine, there is only a 5-speed manual available. All three engines will be BS-VI compliant right from launch.
If we talk of the looks of the car, the Hyundai Aura gets projector headlights along with fog lamps. There are also 15-inch diamond cut alloys. The rear is the best part of the package. It is unlike what we have seen so far in this segment. Might be a mish-mash of shapes but then it truly is distinct.
