Honda WR-V BS6

The updated Honda WR-V has been launched in India. The car has got a new face while given the sheer low volumes it sold in, wouldn’t be a surprise if one missed it. Nevertheless, the Honda WR-V has been one of the highest selling Honda models in India. Now with the Honda WR-V BS6, the manufacturer will definitely want to stand out in the crowd. The so-called crowd consists of the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. The new Honda WR-V price in India starts from Rs 8.50 lakh – Rs 11 lakh, ex-showroom. Honda, like with the Amaze BS6, has increased prices of the petrol by Rs 40,000 and the diesel by Rs 70,000. The Honda WR-V facelift has reached dealerships and if you booked it during the lockdown, the car is yours this coming week.

The petrol and diesel engines displace 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre respectively. There is no change in the 90PS/110Nm, and 100PS/200Nm configurations as well. There is no automatic option and the petrol has a 5-speed manual while the diesel has a 6-speed unit. Claimed mileage has gone down in the BS4 to BS6 transition – 16.5kmpl for the petrol and 23.7kmpl for the diesel. The diesel uses a Diesel Particulate Filter and there is no need to spend extra on AdBlue or other additives.

Safety-wise, the new Honda WR-V BS6 has dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear camera with gridlines, rear windshield wiper and parking sensors as standard. A three years or unlimited kilometres warranty is offered on the new WR-V. An additional warranty of two years can be purchased separately.
