Honda is turning out to be quite the champ these days. Their two wheelers section is on a roll in India. Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India limited hasn’t taken a “leave” after the Auto Expo 2018 and is firing on all cylinders. Case in point being the introduction of the Honda Dio Deluxe. Not a limited edition but will be sold alongside the regular variants. The new Honda Dio Deluxe is priced at Rs 53,292, ex-showroom. This price is nearly Rs 3,000 more than the base trim and nearly Rs 2,000 above the standard.
What does this three grand get you over the other trims. A digital meter complete with a service indicator and three stage economy indication, gold detailing on the rims and Combi braking with equaliser. HMSI is also offering a new green colour option on the Dio that eerily looks similar to the palette offered on the Yamaha Ray ZR. An all LED headlight as well as a DRL are standard on all Dio trims as is the new muffler shield.
The 2018 Honda Dio is being projected as a moto scooter and wages a battle with the Yamaha Ray ZR. It is powered by an 8PS 110cc engine that is BS-IV compliant. It seems that Honda is likely to offer all its new scooter offerings with an LED headlight. It will help them with the economies of scale too.
