No sooner has the Honda Dio BS6 been launched, the company has issued a recall for it. The Honda Dio BS6 is being recalled to fix a fault rear cushion that might result in oil leakage or breakage of the unit. Honda is asking owners, whose vehicles were manufactured between February 14-25, 2020 to bring their vehicles for inspection. The company is communicating with the owners through call, sms and email. Not only the Dio but also the Activa 6g and the 125 (yeah, again!) from the same batch are being recalled.
Are all Honda BS6 two-wheelers being recalled?
At the moment, we don’t have much information on the same. Honda has said that the aforementioned models number less than 50,000. So at present only those three models are being recalled. One can also check if their scooters are affected by logging on to honda2wheelersindia.com and then going to submit their unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the Services > Campaign section.
It’s baffling that Honda is recalling their models that have been recently launched. Did the company make a mistake somewhere by compromising on quality with the BS6 models. Last week we revealed how the Activa 125 BS6 was recalled and prior to that the 5g. Honda has stood for quality and such reports will definitely tarnish their image in the long run.
Honda is yet to convert it’s commuter and big bikes to BS6. This coming week we expect a press release from Honda stating the same. Expect a price hike in the region of Rs 6,000-8,000 for these fuel injected BS6 bikes.
