Honda has been updating the City sedan every year with either a new colour or gearbox combination. This time, it happens to do both. The Honda City petrol ZX manual trim has now been launched in India at Rs 12.75 lakh, ex-Delhi. To recollect, the ZX is the top dog in the City range and was previously available with a petrol-CVT combination and a diesel manual. Bookings have already started at authorised Honda dealerships while deliveries will be fulfilled within the next months. The two new colours are radiant red metallic and lunar silver metallic. Rear parking sensors too are standard across the City range.
What’s new in the Honda City petrol ZX manual
This trim is feature loaded and those lovely LED all things is available. This includes turn indicators, headlamps, fog lights, tail lamps license plate lamps as well as boot lid spoiler. One also gets multi spoke diamond cut 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, headlights with timer function as well as rain sensing wipers. The hottest part is the availability of a sunroof, something which only the City used to offer earlier in its segment and now the Verna. Inside, one gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that acts like a Digipad. Six airbags too are on offer.
Mechanically, the Honda City petrol ZX manual remains unchanged. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated motor makes 119PS and is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Currently, the Honda City is offered in four grades in manual for petrol and diesel – SV, V, VX and ZX grades. Additionally, petrol CVT is also available in V, VX and ZX grades.
The Honda City squares off against the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid, Hyundai Verna and the Toyota Yaris. It is one of the top selling C segment sedans in the country and has an enviable fan following.
