Honda Car India, keeping in line with the upcoming festive season, has launched the City Edge edition in India. The Honda City Edge edition is priced at Rs 9.75 lakh (petrol) and Rs 11.10 lakh (diesel), ex-Delhi. Both the cars are based on the SV trim. Sales have already started across India with deliveries slated in the next few days.
What are the new features with the Honda City Edge edition
For starters, the special edition emblems are available with the car. Then there is also 15-inch diamond cut alloys, rear parking sensors and camera with display on the inside mirror. If one were to buy the regular SX trim, then they would have got steel wheels as well as no rear sensors or camera. The aforementioned prices are the same that one will have to pay for the regular SV trims. This means Honda is not charging extra for these accessories. A good move by the company then. All Honda City trims get dual airbags and ABS as standard while four additional airbags are available in the ZX trim.
Powering the Honda City Edge edition is the tried and trusted 1.5-litre petrol naturally aspirated motor that is good for 119PS and a claimed efficiency of 17.4kmpl. The diesel on the other hand is also a 1.5-litre unit but makes 100PS of power and has a claimed mileage of 25.6kmpl. While the petrol can be optioned with a CVT or 5-speed manual, the diesel comes with only a 6-speed manual transmission. It is likely that for the next generation Honda City due sometime next year, there will also be a CVT for the diesel. Given the popularity of automatic transmissions in India, Honda is likely to give this option. The Honda Amaze too has a diesel CVT option now.
