Honda has announced its first launch for the year 2019. This one is a real surprise, something that many of us didn’t see or envisage. The new Honda CB300R will be launched in India soon and official bookings have started at Rs 5,000. Only select authorised Honda dealerships will be accepting the booking. The Honda CB300R price in India will be less than Rs 250,000, ex-showroom. Honda is bringing in the motorcycle to India through the CKD route. This means that the motorcycle parts kit will be imported from Thailand and assembled here. Some Indian components will also be used in the process.
Wow! What is the Honda CB300R?
For starters, it is based on the Neo sports cafe concept and looks delicious. The minimalist styling may appeal to retro cafe racer audience as well as the naked street fighter populace. What’s endearing is that the Honda CB300R gets full LED lighting across board. A fully digital instrument cluster too is available and those chiselled lines on the tank signal the strong design elements. One gets a split seat arrangement on the new CB300R and the exhaust too is a chunky unit. The motorcycle in all, looks like a pocket rocket.
Speaking of which, a 286cc single cylinder, oil-cooled engine is used in the Honda CB300R. This engine produces 31PS of power and 27.5Nm of torque. These numbers are similar to the KTM 250 Duke as well as the BMW G310R. A 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch are provided as well. The motorcycle weighs a paltry 155kg and has a chassis made of tubular and pressed steel. One gets disc brakes at both ends, with ABS dialed in. a An IMU too is present and it decides, based on the riding conditions, how much brake force should be sent to the front or rear wheel.
Two colours will be available at launch – Matte Axis Gray Metallic and Candy Chromosphere Red. One can book online at www.Honda2WheelersIndia.com.
