Honda has announced its first all-new launch for 2019. It starts with the Honda CB 300R street fighter motorcycle. The Honda CB 300R price in India is Rs 2.41 lakh, ex-showroom. The on-road Mumbai price is Rs 3.10 lakh. Bookings had started a month ago and we have come to know that the company has so far received more than 500 bookings. While dispatches will start shortly, deliveries will begin soon thereafter. The Honda CB 300R goes up against the BMW G310R as well as the KTM 390 Duke. Royal Enfield’s clever pricing strategy ensures that the CB 300R also competes with the Interceptor 650.
Details of the Honda CB 300R motorcycle
As discussed earlier, the CB 300R is a naked street fighter motorcycle. It brings in a 286cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder engine that pumps out 31.5PS of power and 27.4Nm of torque. Honda’s fuel injection system is also used here and the engine is BS-IV compliant as well. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch.
The motorcycle weighs a paltry 145kg and has a chassis made of tubular and pressed steel. One gets disc brakes at both ends, with dual channel ABS dialed in. An IMU too is present and it decides, based on the riding conditions, how much brake force should be sent to the front or rear wheel. A conventional exhaust but inspired from Honda’s superbikes is also added to the list of kit. Honda gives an all-LED lights along with a fully digital instrument cluster. The front suspension consists of upside down forks while the rear one is a 7-step adjustable monoshock unit. Honda is using more affordable Michelin Pilot Sport tyres as compared to the Dunlops available globally. It remains to be seen if the grip is similar.
Only two colours are available at launch – Matte Axis Gray Metallic and Candy Chromosphere Red.
