Hero XPulse 200T to be launched in India in February 2019

EICMA is the mecca for motorcyclists from around the world. Like other motorshows this one too focuses on automobiles but only of the two wheel kind. Held in Milan, Italy every year, EICMA holds a significance to the Indian sub-continent too. Most of the bikes showcased here eventually make their way here. Hero MotoCorp showcased a new version of the XPulse 200 this time around. The new Hero XPulse 200T is a retro-tourer and will be launched in India by February 2019.

What is the Hero XPulse 200T?

As discussed before, the Hero XPulse 200T borrows its styling from the XPulse 200. The differences here include that the XPulse 200 will be used for off-roading while the 200T will strictly be a tourer. To this effect, the Hero XPulse 200T gets 17-inch alloys on both ends, 30mm less ground clearance, new graphics, different handlebar and a new seat. Hero will also add MRF tyres and  a taller windscreen to aid the touring capabilities. A LED headlight and a single channel ABS too have been provided along with a luggage rack.

In terms of engine, the XPulse 200T shares it with the XPulse 200. In essence, one gets a 200cc air cooled engine that is fuel injected and makes 18.4PS/17.1Nm. The 5-speed gearbox in the 200T will have a slightly higher gearing to enhance its touring capabilities. Like the XPulse 200, even this one has a metal bash plate underneath the engine to protect it from the road debris.

An all-digital instrument cluster in the Hero XPulse 200T will also have turn-by-turn navigation as well as Bluetooth connectivity. Through the latter one can view incoming or missed calls. Hero is expected to add up a significant number of original accessories along with the XPulse twins. Along with the showcase of the XPulse 200T at EICMA, Hero also showed off four concepts. The visiting public has to vote for one of these concepts and based on this, one of the motorcycles will see the light of the day.

Hero will price the XPulse twins between Rs 1 – 1.1 lakh. We can’t wait to ride these two!
