The Hero Glamour was launched earlier last year. It features a new design as well as revised engine. However, now Hero MotoCorp has brought in another new iteration of the motorcycle, one with their Integrated Braking System. IBS as it is popularly known works in the same fashion as the Combined Braking System or CBS. Strangely, enough and this is something we cannot corroborate at the moment, a Youtube video also claims that the engine is now BS-VI. The user shows now proof of the same and is merely saying that it is. Wondering that this is the first BS-VI motorcycle engine in the country, no hue and cry is being made yet. Let’s know more about the Hero Glamour Fi IBS.
Hero Glamour Fi IBS functioning
The Hero Glamour Fi IBS brings in a 240mm front disc brake and a 130mm rear drum brake. When the rider uses the rear brake, 40 per cent of the front brake is also brought in to picture. This enables for a safer brake experience and lesser braking distance as well. The Indian government has made it mandatory that from April 2019, all new 150cc or lesser capacity motorcycles should have CBS. Those above this capacity need to have ABS. Looks, like Hero wants to be ahead of time. A logo on the front fender tells that IBS is present while a couple of additional wires and an oil reservoir near the rear brake add to the credentials.
Hero Glamous Fi IBS has a BS-VI engine?
As discussed before, it sounds a bit weird that Hero should introduce a BS-VI engine well before the April 2020 deadline. The engine, as quoted by the Youtube user, still makes 11.6PS of power and 11Nm from its 125cc fuel injected heart. The gearbox is still a 4-speed unit. While there is no word yet on the carburetor variant getting IBS, we believe Hero may issue a press release sooner or later.
The Hero Glamour Fi IBS price in India hasn’t been revealed yet. It is likely that the price could be slightly higher than the current Rs 66,400, ex-Mumbai.
